Policies:
Thank you for choosing The Apawthecary LLC. Please carefully read through each section, even if it does not apply to you for your next appointment it may apply to a future appointment. It is our intent to provide safe, quality care to make your pet’s grooming experience as comfortable as possible.
FLEAS:
In the interest of keeping a flea-free environment. I understand that if live fleas are found on my pet, my pet will be bathed with flea shampoo for an additional fee. If my pet is infested in fleas, at the discretion of my groomer, there will be a clean up fee of $30 in addition to the flea shampoo. This is to insure a flea free and safe environment for all pets in the care of The Apawthecary LLC. I am aware that my pet may be sensitive to ingredients in the flea shampoo and any bites on my pet’s body will still need time to heal. I am aware that flea shampoo is not a preventative for possible future fleas. I agree not to hold The Apawthecary LLC liable.
AGED PET/MEDICAL CONDITIONS:
Geriatric or otherwise limited pets can require extra special attention, and although great care will be taken, grooming may be stressful and can expose or aggravate an unknown or inactive condition. This can occur during or after grooming. I agree not to hold The Apawthecary LLC liable.
VACCINATIONS:
By signing this contract, owners verify their pets are current on rabies, distemper, Parvo virus and bordetella. Proof of vaccination shall be provided to The Apawthecary LLC upon request.
DEMATTING:
Should my pet’s coat need to be removed due to excessive matting, I am aware that irritation or injury may occur or be uncovered during or after grooming as a result of a matted coat. I am aware that there is an additional fee for the removal of a fully matted coat to account for the additional time to remove the coat before the bath, as well as the wear and tear on the groomers tools from shaving an unwashed coat. I am aware that this can cause physical and mental stress and that my pet will feel different for a while following grooming. I agree not to hold The Apawthecary LLC liable. Regular home maintenance will help prevent this situation. The groomers can go over tools, products or care routines needed to prevent future matting.
*Current rate for dematting: $2 per minute (30 minute max time limit)
MEDICATION/EMERGENCIES:
I will inform my pet’s groomer of any sedative given prior to the groom. The Apawthecary will NOT administer medication of any kind. In the event of an emergency, in your absence, you authorize The Apawthecary LLC to contact the nearest Veterinarian and authorize the Vet to treat the pet as necessary at your expense.
BEHAVIORAL ISSUES:
Owners MUST inform The Apawthecary LLC if your pet bite, has bitten or is aggressive to people, other pets or specific grooming procedures. Muzzles may be used if necessary. Muzzling will not harm your pet, and protects both the pet and the groomer, The Apawthecary LLC reserves the right to refuse/stop services for such pet at any time before or during the grooming process, and charge handling fee for aggressive dogs in addition to the regular charge.
PUPPIES:
All puppies are required to have an additional release signed if they are under 8 months or have not recieved thier first appointment yet. The Apawthecary LLC recommends that all puppies recieve an introductory groom at least 48 hours after their last set of shots at about 16 week. Proof of vaccination will be required. We will discuss at the end of the appointment a schedule that is recommended to get your puppy familiar with grooming depending on how your pet does for their grooming appointment. If the schedule is not maintained The Apawthecary LLC reserves the right to no longer service your pet. The Apawthecary LLC does not guarentee the results of your puppies groom as it is a new experience for them.
PAYMENT:
Payment is to be made at the time of service. Payment can be cash, Zelle transfers or credit card. If you would like to pay with credit card The Apawthecary LLC requires a credit card to be saved on file. Our rates are based on the breed and weight of the pet and duration of the groom. All quotes given prior to seeing the pet on the day of service are subject to change depending on coat length and condition as well as behavioral issues or special needs of the pet. Nail cutting, ear cleaning, teeth brushing, anal gland expression, etc. are part of the service unless the process is too stressful for the pet or too dangerous for the groomer.
CANCELLATIONS:
Cancellation and rescheduling of an appointment, by the client, requires 48 hours notice or there will be a charge of 50% of the groom canceled/rescheduled. If this fee is not paid The Apawthecary LLC reserves the right to cancel any future appointments until it is paid. In the event of a family emergency or any other uncontrollable circumstance, the groomer has the discretion to waive the fee within the 48 hour period. We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule a groom if we feel the need to do so. Every effort will be made to reschedule at a time convenient for both the client and the groomer.
NO-SHOW:
It is considered a "no-show" when the client is not available at the scheduled appointment time and does not contact the groomer to cancel or reschedule. We reserve the right to charge the FULL grooming fee due to the loss of revenue caused by a "no-show". Please make every effort to call and cancel or reschedule when possible to avoid such situations. We reserve the right to refuse service to any pet or client for any reason.
